As faculty prepare for the beginning of the semester, CSN Libraries offer good news to those teaching research assignments: our online citation guides are updated and ready for you and your students!

The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Seventh Edition (or APA 7th) officially came out at the end of 2019, which now feels like a lifetime ago. But CSN Libraries has spent that time working with the college writing center to create an up-to-date APA guide on our website and a quick guide PDF that will be available in hard copy at each CSN campus library reference desk. Our APA guide now contains new formatting rules for the 7th edition, as well as updated examples for students to view and utilize as templates for their own APA citations.

Don't worry about having to update links either--any URLs faculty have saved for our library's previous APA guide have updated automatically, so there's no extra work required.

But since a lot has happened in the past few months, we understand if not all APA professors are using the 7th edition just yet. That's why the previous version, 6th edition, is still accessible online as well.

Don't use APA? Check out our up-to-date MLA guide, or talk with a librarian if you have questions about other citation styles. We're happy to help you!
