Welcome back CSN students, faculty, and staff for the spring semester. We are glad that you’re here and want to help you in every way that we can.

One of the ways that we can help is with the textbook reserves collection that we have in the library. The textbook reserves collection contains many of the textbooks that are currently being used in your classes. When the libraries open again on February 1, 2021, you can come into the library and check out the textbooks with a valid CSN library card for two hours at a time to use in the library.

You can go to our “Find Books” to see if there is a copy of the textbook that you need in the library. If your textbook is not available, please have your instructor contact the library.

This collection is meant as a supplement and is not intended to replace purchasing a textbook. To purchase your textbook, please go to the bookstore on the campus your class is located (Charleston and Online Classes, North Las Vegas Classes, Henderson Classes). Both new and used copies can be purchased from the CSN bookstore and copies can also be rented for the entire semester at a lower cost than purchasing the textbook.

If you need to use our textbook collection before the library opens or you are not able to come to campus because you are sick or quarantining because of COVID-19, we can provide small sections (usually not more than 10%) under the fair use exception of the copyright act. Please contact a librarian to see if you qualify.

If you need assistance purchasing a textbook for the semester, you can contact the textbook assistance program to see if you may qualify.

If you have questions about the reserves collection, you can contact the library in several different ways by visiting our ask page.
