Coming Soon: New Henderson Campus Library!
Get ready for a whole new experience at the Henderson Campus Library this Fall semester! Construction is almost complete on the two-story library, located inside the new Health Sciences building near the Student Union.
The first floor of the library will have our circulating book collection, as well as over 50 desktop computers and a dedicated room for individuals who want to study quietly. At our service desk, students can check out reserve textbooks, anatomy models and laptop computers to use inside the library. Research assistance from a librarian and computer help will be available as well.
On the second floor, there will be a variety of tables and seating areas with plenty of outlets for plugging in electronic devices. A huge window seat with a beautiful view of CSN's baseball and softball fields is sure to become a popular spot. Four group study rooms will each have a computer with projection for collaborating. Faculty will be able to schedule a library instruction session for their class in our large classroom, which will have flexible seating and the option of using our laptop computers.
The most unique feature of our new library is the "social stairs," which connects the first floor to the second floor. Built-in seating on the stairs will provide a place to plug in electronic devices and take in the stunning views of the Henderson Campus. A lectern on the bottom of the stairs is connected to a large video screen on the side of the stairs and will be a great space for film screenings, readings, lectures and other special events. We are so excited for you to see this new space!
Please note that the current library in building A will be closed as of 2 pm on May 14 so we can move all the books and other library resources over to the new library. We expect the new library to be ready for you in late July or early August and we will update our website as soon as we have a date.
While the Henderson Campus Library is closed, our book drop in the parking lot between the A & B buildings will remain open to return books 24/7. If you need to pick up a library book at the Henderson Campus while we're in the process of moving, just call our circulation desk at 702-651-3066 and we'll try to make arrangements.
If you have any questions about the new library, send Christine Shore, our Henderson Campus lead librarian, an email at email@example.com
