On Thursday, December 2nd at 2 pm at the Henderson Campus Library (Building H), join English Professor Laura McBride as she hosts a showing of the movie Just Mercy, starring Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson. “The movie is based on the powerful and thought-provoking true story of young lawyer Bryan Stevenson and his history making battle for justice. After graduating from Harvard, Bryan had his pick of lucrative jobs. Instead, he heads to Alabama to defend those wrongly condemned or who were not afforded proper representation” justmercyfilm.com.

The movie’s lead character, Bryan Stevenson, is the author of Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption, one of the books being read by CSN’s One Book, One College program. The program strives to foster a sense of community, creativity and conversation through the mutual study of a common reading. Following the movie, Professor Laura McBride will host a short, but lively discussion. Popcorn, candy and beverages will be provided too!  Just Mercy Library Guide.
