Are you taking COM 101, ENG 102, or any class that requires you to research a topic? Have you ever gone down a Wikipedia wormhole, or wondered if a TikTok you saw shared credible information? Do you just need one more credit for the semester? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then LIB 101 might be the class for you!
LIB 101 is a one-credit, 8-week online course that will run from August 25th to October 19th this Fall 2025. The course covers effective ways to search for popular and academic sources across various platforms, like Wikipedia, ChatGPT, and the CSN libraries’ databases. Bonus: LIB 101 uses a no-cost, open access textbook linked directly in the online course.
It’s called Research Skills for College and Life for a reason—the skills you practice in this course can help you now as a student and beyond graduation. Consult the CSN catalog for a full description of the course and learning outcomes. For more information, please contact the instructor, Carrieann Cahall at carrieann.cahall@csn.edu
