How long have you been working at CSN Libraries?
I have been working with CSN Libraries in some capacity on-and-off since 2012! I was originally hired as a student worker at the Henderson campus, and worked at the library for the entirety of earning my Bachelors degree! Best place to work in the world!

What is your favorite thing about the library?
Aside from our amazing staff, I love the sheer amount of resources that the library has to offer. When people think of the library, they might just assume that we have books but really we have an expansive plethora of services available to students and the community!

What is your degree or background in? Tell us about some of your most interesting classes.
Criminal Justice/Law. I definitely think that my most interesting class was one that focused on organized crime/syndicates. My professor went undercover with the Mafia for over thirteen years, and had some of the most outrageous and insane stories. It was also super interesting to learn about the Mafia's role in the creation of Las Vegas. I loved it!

What is the strangest or funniest thing you’ve ever experienced in a library?
When I worked for the public library, I was an opener. I was in the middle of doing the paging list in the morning when I thought I smelled syrup. I followed the scent, and to my surprise a patron had an entire breakfast spread and was using our outlet to power a griddle, right there in the middle of the library. Part of me wanted to reward them for their ingenuity and not tell my boss, lol!

What are your interests outside the library? What kinds of activities do you like to get involved in?
When I’m not at work, I love to be outside! Fortunately, Las Vegas is surrounded by so much astounding natural beauty in the form of state and national parks, and I like to take advantage of that as much as I can! I love camping, hiking, running, cycling, or anything that allows me to physically explore our desert and mountains. I really appreciate the vast and diverse geology the desert has to offer so much so, as of late, I’ve spent almost all of my free time underground-exploring caves!

I heard you have a unique breed of dog. Can you tell us about your pets?
I have two Chinese Cresteds! Sgt. Pepper is my hairless baby, he’s the most particular creature I’ve ever met and loves to spend his time hiking, playing fetch, and bossing me around. My other Chinese Crested, Reo Speedwaggin’ is my powder puff! I just adopted him this past year. He’s such a happy-go-lucky pup. He loves camping, exploring new places, eating the fuzz off of tennis balls, and chasing his tail for hours on end! They’re the best!
