Greetings to all students, faculty, staff, and community members coming to campus for the Spring 2024 semester! This is Stephanie Villamor, Interim Director of CSN Libraries. It’s my pleasure to welcome you, or welcome you back, to our college and our libraries. Happy New Year!

2023 was an exciting year for CSN Libraries as we had new people join our team, new furniture set up for our students, and fun new events like our Lo-Fi Study Sesh that will be continuing again this year.

In 2023, we also had a gate count total of 219,877 across all three campus libraries. While this accounts for in-person foot traffic, it does not account for all the great work that has continued through our online campus as well. We are excited to see the growth and use of our libraries no matter the medium.

I also wanted to personally thank all our library staff who were quick to act on December 6, 2023 during the campus-wide evacuations that were prompted by that day’s incident at UNLV. Our community experienced a horrific tragedy, but I am proud of our staff and students’ response and compassion.

The new year brings more events and changes that we will continue to share in order to keep our CSN community informed. The search for a permanent library director is underway this spring. We’re in the process of finalizing our library’s first-ever Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion statement. The library website will soon undergo a redesign to keep our online presence even more up to date and easy to use. Keep checking back for even more!

If you have any questions or need any help from our libraries throughout the new semester and new year, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We can’t wait to see all that 2024 has in store!
