Recently, the CSN Communications department hosted their Spring 2026 Public Speaking Festival, and the CSN Libraries were happy to support. As a key resource for students’ research needs, it was exciting for those of us in attendance to witness students deliver informative, insightful, and well-informed speeches.
If you participated this semester, pat yourself on the back!
Frequent NLV campus library users, student Jerick Jay Alisoso and Professor Alex Simpson pictured here. Jerick took First Place for her Informative Speech and thanked NLV Librarians for their assistance.
Also in attendance were celebrity judges CSN President Dr. Klippenstein, Congresswoman Susie Lee, and Channel 13 News Anchor Anjali Patel, plus speakers and guests from local government, media, business, and education.
A round of applause goes out to all the student speakers who participated, as well as the Communications professors who supported them along the way and organized such an empowering and inspiring event.
When you’re preparing to give your speeches next semester, you can count on the library for the resources and help you need to deliver an award-winning speech. Congratulations to this semester’s winners!
