Meet the new CSN Online Lead Librarian, Ajax!

Christopher Zahedi

Please join the CSN Libraries in welcoming the new Online Library Lead Librarian, Ajax Delvecki. Ajax has been a Reference and Instruction Librarian at CSN for a few years now and soon will be undertaking this new role at the library.

We asked Ajax a few questions so we can all get to know him a little bit better.

Tell us about your history in the library field. Where have you been and what brought you to the CSN Libraries?

I started working in libraries in 2004. I was a Page for Metro Library in Oklahoma City and worked my up to Circulation Clerk and Associate Librarian. It's really like the career chose me! I came to Las Vegas in 2018 as a Circulation Student Supervisor at Lied Library (UNLV). When a librarian position opened at CSN, I jumped at the chance! I am coming up on my three-year anniversary at CSN. The students are great, and my colleagues are all pretty cool, too!

What are your goals in your new position as the Lead Librarian of the CSN Libraries Online Campus?

My predecessor in this role really set the team up for success. My goals are to streamline a few things, but mostly I am looking forward to learning the admin and supervisory side of things. I am also excited about working with Tech Services and seeing more of the "back of house" work.

What would you like CSN Students to know about the CSN Libraries Online Campus?

Just like I tell my instruction session students, the online and physical resources that the library provides are here for you! Take advantage of Chat, the databases, and all of the other wonderful things we offer. You're paying for the resources, so use them!

When you’re not working what do you do for fun?

I love a long road trip. I have driven across the USA multiple times, as well as across the UK and South Africa. When I'm not racking up miles, I like to customize clothes on my ancient Kenmore sewing machine. I am also attempting to get good again at speaking French and German. As you can probably guess my undergrad studies focused on geography and fashion studies.

Thank you Ajax and good luck with your new position.
