Let us welcome Dr. Ted Chodock to his new role as Interim Director of CSN Libraries!
Ted has served as a CSN Librarian for the last fifteen years and brings with us a wealth of experience. He has been an adjunct professor, a Faculty Senator, committee chair, Vice President and President of CSN-NFA, led various library teams, and has been the Lead Librarian for the Charleston campus since 2021.
He was born in Pittsburgh, raised in Cleveland, and has called several other places home such as Colorado (3 years), Massachusetts (11 years), Japan (2 years), and now Las Vegas (15 years). Ted celebrated the completion of his Ph.D. from UNLV May 2024, adding a new degree to his collection from Oberlin, Harvard, and Simmons. When not at CSN, Ted spends time with his wife, Tamayo, his two children, Melanie (17) and Oren (9), and his mother, in West Henderson.
During his time in this position, Ted shares that his goal is that "CSN libraries continues to be a place where we take care of each other, provide students needed academic resources, foster a sense of safety, care, belonging, and support, and to be that place where students can study, reflect, get help, and spend time with people who care about them and their academic success."
