From physical to digital art forms, learn how to create something new or improve the skills you already have. These DIY-focused shared displays align with the CSN Libraries upcoming Zine programming next week. Bush signed into law a joint resolution designating November as Native American Heritage Month to recognize and affirm the origins, history, culture, and remarkable resilience of American Indians. NO CLASSES ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 31…IT’S NEVADA DAY! (and Halloween!) Nevada is one of only a few states that celebrates itself with an official holiday. Vroom, vroom, Coyotes! With SEMA and Formula One lining up on their marks, we’re highlighting books in our collection that are sure to delight any car enthusiast or racing fanatic. Whether you’re into classic cars or curious about electric vehicles, we’ve curated some books for you! CSN Libraries is proud to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by sharing highlights of materials in our collection of print and electronic resources . We have also partnered with North Las Vegas Campus Life for an event making papel picado (paper banners) and with the Charleston Coyote Den on a book discussion with Drs. Pla-Cazares and Luis Ortega discussing the book Transforming Hispanic-Serving Institutions for Equity and Justice which is available at the Charleston campus library. Due to a power outage, the CSN Charleston Campus was closed early at 3pm on Thursday, September 18. The Charleston Campus Library is currently closed. If you need library assistance, please reach out to the North Las Vegas Campus Library or Henderson Campus Library, which remain open until 8pm. You can also use our online chat. Power has now been restored to the CSN Charleston campus and the Charleston Campus Library should reopen as normal on Friday, September 19, at 8am.

Let us welcome Dr. Ted Chodock to his new role as Interim Director of CSN Libraries! Ted has served as a CSN Librarian for the last fifteen years and brings with us a wealth of experience. He has been an adjunct professor, a Faculty Senator, committee chair, Vice President and President of CSN-NFA, led various library teams, and has been the Lead Librarian for the Charleston campus since 2021. He was born in Pittsburgh, raised in Cleveland, and has called several other places home such as Colorado (3 years), Massachusetts (11 years), Japan (2 years), and now Las Vegas (15 years). Ted
