On Wednesday, December 8 th, CSN’s Campus Life will host a “Late Night Study Night” at our Henderson Campus Library! The Henderson library in Building H will be open until 9 pm on this one evening before finals week, so take advantage of the extra two hours to study and complete your assignments. Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15th- October 15th and is celebrated to recognize the achievements, histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America who have inspired others to achieve success. You might see displays of crossed out, covered up, and overall challenged books inside CSN Libraries this month and wonder, “Why do we celebrate books that have been banned?” It’s actually a celebration of the freedom to read, where we recognize both current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools according to the American Library Association website. Project Muse is a humanities and social sciences database that is new to CSN Libraries. It is a non-profit collaboration between libraries and publishers that provides peer-reviewed academic journals and electronic books. You can find both eBooks and articles in your search results. Humanities include law, languages, philosophy, religion, mythology, gender and women’s studies, multicultural studies, pop culture, and art and music. Social sciences include anthropology, economics, management, history, political science, psychology, and sociology. You can find Project Muse in the library database
