CSN has a new database called Campus Research . This database is replacing Nexis Uni and will be very useful for students in the paralegal program, criminal justice classes or anyone seeking legal information. With Campus Research you can look up both federal and state cases, statutes, court rules, regulations, administrative decisions, briefs, proposed and enacted legislation, and proposed and adopted regulations. CSN's One Book, One College (OBOC) program begins its fifth year of bringing the CSN community together by reading and discussing a single book! The selection for this 2020/2021 academic year is The Happiness Hypothesis: Finding Modern Truth in Ancient Wisdom by social psychologist Jonathan Haidt. HBO has announced that Ta-Nehisi Coates’ book Between the World and Me is being made into a television special premiering this fall. CSN Libraries recently acquired the ebook, while the print book will be available to check out from the Henderson and North Las Vegas campus libraries when we reopen. Searching for a hot topic for your research assignment? One of the first steps in starting a research paper is to choose a topic. Several of the library databases have a page with topics to choose from and then find articles about that topic. They include CQ Researcher, Issues and Controversies, and Opposing Viewpoints in Context. The beginning of this month, February 27-March 3, marked Nevada Reading Week, where students across the state celebrated their love of reading!
